Translation is about so much more than replacing a word with its equivalence in a different language. This isn’t limited to the language they speak, but extends to cultural references, proverbs, traditions, and positive and negative connotations which may not apply to the same words and expressions in a different language.
This is why I’m your woman. Not only am I as passionate about the Oxford comma as I am about the lack of apostrophes after possessive nouns in the Swedish language, but I also live and breathe both English and Irish culture and was born and bred in Sweden. I have done translation work to and from English for well-known organisations like the EU Commission and General Motors, and would love to help you with your translation and website localisation needs. Formal or informal, funny or serious, slang or textbook – I know it in both Swedish and English like the back of my hand.
